Introduction
MyChamaHub provides tools for chama and group administrators and members to manage contribution cycles, payments, fines, member records, and reports. This Privacy Policy explains the types of information we collect and how we use, share, retain, and protect that information.
Information we collect
We collect information needed to create accounts, operate chama workspaces, authenticate users, process support requests, and keep contribution and payment records accurate.
Account information
This may include your name, phone number, email address, authentication identifiers, role assignments, and profile details you or a chama administrator provide.
Chama and group information
Administrators may create chama names, subgroup or cluster details, member lists, invite codes, contribution cycle settings, fine settings, and subscription preferences.
Member contribution and payment records
The service stores contribution obligations, amounts paid, balances, fine records, transaction status, payment method metadata, receipts or provider references, and report data needed by the chama.
Payment-related information
Payment requests may include phone numbers, amounts, transaction references, provider status messages, and provider callback identifiers. We do not ask you to share your M-Pesa PIN with MyChamaHub.
How we use information
- To create and secure accounts and chama workspaces.
- To calculate contribution balances, fines, reports, and member dashboards.
- To initiate, track, and reconcile payment requests.
- To provide support, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
- To prevent misuse, investigate disputes, and comply with legal, accounting, security, or audit obligations.
Payment processing note
Payments may be processed through trusted third-party providers and infrastructure services such as M-Pesa, Rydyk, Firebase, hosting providers, and other payment or technical providers used to operate the app. MyChamaHub is software for chama management and should not be treated as a bank or regulated financial institution unless expressly confirmed in writing by the business owner.
Data sharing with service providers
We may share the minimum necessary data with authentication, hosting, analytics, support, payment, communication, and infrastructure providers so the service can function. We may also share information where required for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or protection of rights.
Data security
We use role-based access, authenticated sessions, and technical safeguards intended to protect chama records. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users and administrators should keep account credentials safe and report suspicious activity promptly.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, support chama records, resolve disputes, maintain audit trails, and meet legal, accounting, security, or operational requirements.
User rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal account information, subject to verification and any lawful retention needs. Chama records may require administrator approval or retention where they relate to shared group financial records.
Account and data deletion
To request account or data deletion, follow the instructions on our Data Deletion page or contact us on WhatsApp at +254745350021 or email support@mychamahub.co.ke.
Children’s privacy
MyChamaHub is intended for chama and group finance administration and is not directed to children. If a child’s information has been provided without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review it.
